🐾 Complete care for your pets' skin
Used regularly, Silver Honey™ becomes an essential part of your pet's first-aid kit. Whether it's to treat a horse's injury, soothe a dog's irritation, or address a minor wound in a cat, it works naturally and effectively .
Silver Honey has achieved a 5+ UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) score, meaning it uses authentic Manuka honey, harvested exclusively from the pollen of the Manuka tree in New Zealand. Manuka honey has exceptionally high cleansing activity and maintains a healthy, hydrated environment for wounds. It also facilitates debridement, or the removal of dead tissue from the wound. The balanced skin environment created by the characteristic compounds of Manuka honey promotes positive wound healing.
What is the skin microbiome and why is it important?
The skin is the body's largest organ. It separates our internal structures from the outside world. It's therefore not surprising that the microorganisms living in that world—bacteria, fungi, and viruses—decide to make their home on our skin. The "microbiome" is the name given to all these microorganisms that live in harmony on the skin.

The animal microbiome preserves skin health
In nature, skin is not sterile. Microorganisms are meant to coexist there day after day. Although the effects of the skin microbiome are still being researched, studies in humans show that its balance is essential to a person's overall health.
Research conducted on horses shows that the equine skin microbiota, or microbiome, creates a rich and stable environment that is disrupted by even minor injury. However, it returns to its previous balanced state of microorganisms once the skin recovers its normal health.
In the presence of tissue damage, the loss of microbial diversity (or a disrupted skin microbiome) often leads to a prolonged delay in the natural repair process. Equine and human research has shown that a balanced microbiome allows for rapid natural healing.
Applying skincare products that provide an effective barrier against harmful bacteria while maintaining normal and healthy populations of skin microorganisms is a useful way to support positive outcomes for minor wounds.
Silver Honey uses the natural properties of Manuka honey and MicroSilver BG™ to help care for the skin’s natural microbiome.
